Veterans Employment Representative Karl Kandt

A career and education counseling professional based in Kansas, Karl Kandt has served as a veterans employment representative since 2022. His duties in this position involve oversight of the department’s disabled veterans outreach program and collaborations with local job fairs and job centers. Karl Kandt supports veterans with a variety of services, including job search assistance, resume and cover letter preparation, and mock communication prep. Also, Karl Kandt has attended local professional development opportunities to assist others in their transition to the world of work.

Karl Kandt previously spent nearly a decade as a vocational rehabilitation counselor with the United States Department of Veterans Affairs. In this role, he provided extensive career assessment, interview information, and job research skills development.

Mr. Kandt holds master of science degrees in both counselor education and sports administration. He also completed an undergraduate program in communications at Emporia State University, during which time he balanced his studies with his responsibilities as a student athlete basketball player and an Army ROTC cadet.
